This year the Vacuum Deposited Perovskite Conference will be held in Freiburg (Breisgau) in Germany. The conference will take place in rooms of the Engineering Faculty of the University of Freiburg, hosted by Fraunhofer ISE.
Freiburg (Breisgau) has been said to be the sunniest City of Germany and is home to both the University of Freiburg and the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE). Both have contributed to make Freiburg a pioneer in renewable energy research and deployment as well as active travel.

Please be careful when planning your travel, there are several places in Germany and Switzerland with very similar names. This conference is held in Freiburg (Breisgau). Freiburg (Breisgau) has several highspeed train connections to Switzerland, France and the North of Germany. Paris can for example be reached in three to four hours by train. EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg can be reached by public transport in about an hour and Frankfurt Airport is just over two hours away on the highspeed ICE train. Zurich airport is also about 2 hours away from Freiburg.
Getting Around in Freiburg (Breisgau)
Freiburg is a very walkable and cyclable City with an excellent public transport system. The conference venue can be reached from the main train station in 15min on the tram. Rental bikes are available through the Frelo (Nextbike) App.
Where to stay
The closest hotel to the conference venue is “Hotel Stadt Freiburg”. The Engineering Faculty has its own tram stop on line 4. Any hotel along that tram line would have fast access to the conference. This includes hotels close to the main station (Freiburg Hauptbahnhof).
